Chiropractic treatment is a system that manipulates bones and joints, especially in the spine, that can cause uncomfortable symptoms and physical problems. Chiropractic doctors diagnose and treat spinal subluxations, which are slight dislocations in a person’s spinal vertebra. Slight subluxations in the spine can cause all sorts pain.
Not only does misalignment cause problems with pain in a person’s back, but the condition can also cause problems affecting the nerves, muscles and other parts of the body. Chiropractic treatments have been shown time and time again to give patients relief from their pain and symptoms in a non-invasive way.
We provide advanced spinal chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are even safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before.

What can you expect from a chiropractic exam
Chiropractic treatments are relatively pain free. So are chiropractic examinations. Dr. Scott will test your reflexes, range of motion in many parts of the body, and some other basic tests to check your bodily function. Nothing will be done in his office without your consent.
After the examination, Dr. Mark A. Scott, D.C will give you the results of his findings. He will be able to tell you:
- If chiropractic treatment will help you.
- A diagnosis of your problems.
- Tell you about your proposed treatment plan.
You may also have x-rays of your spine to get a closer look at your problem areas.
Chiropractic Treatment
The first chiropractic treatment will usually start at the end of your first examination. Other treatments may be recommended after the chiropractic session has ended. This might include ice if you were sore before you came in to the appointment. You may be sore after the first few treatments as your spine adjust back to their appropriate spot. You may be instructed to avoid certain activities and positions that may aggravate your condition. You may also be given exercises to strengthen the muscles around your joints and spine in order to hold them in place better.
Our wellness team can also give you a wellness make over that can help you eat right, exercise properly, and promote your healing and well-being for the long term. This program will be individualized to your specific wants and health needs, since everyone is an individual. You will be taught the basics of good spinal health such as:
- Proper posture
- Good diet
- Spinal alignment
- Weight control
- Supplements that will increase your health
- Stress relief techniques
Is Chiropractic Treatment Painful?
In general, chiropractic adjustments are not painful. Usually all that is felt is a feeling of relief and a reduction in the amount of pain and pressure you are feeling in your neck or back. The pop or snap that you hear during an adjustment is not your bones cracking together, as some people erroneously think. The sound you hear is caused by small pockets of air surrounding your joints, when the joint tissues are stretched and moved you hear those air pockets “pop”.
What are the Benefits of Chiropractic Treatment?
There are many benefits to chiropractic treatment. No drugs or medications are used to soothe your pain, so there is no concern about developing an addiction to your medications. Pain medications cover up the symptoms but do not take care of the root of the problem. Chiropractic treatments can help fix the problem that started your pain and keep you feeling better.
The biggest benefit, of course, is that you will feel better. Your pain levels can greatly diminish. You will notice your range of motion increases. Feeling better might even improve your happiness level and your quality of life.

I have been seeing Dr. Scott for several years. He helped me through 2 awful car accidents. I would highly recommend him as he has helped me get back on my feet and now I only have to do check-ins a couple times a year(which is an improvement from daily after my accidents)! He is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know you as a patient so that he can assist you with your recovery in the best way possible!

This guy is insanely good. Or maybe its because other chiropractors in Fort Collins are all so bad, but I went in with a dislocated rib and winged scapula and he loosened my spine up and went to work. I’m going in for a second session tomorrow but I already feel tremendous improvement in my back/shoulder. He doesn’t do light adjustments – he gets in there and fixes it with immense effectiveness (yes, the cracking will be loud).

Fantastic! Yesterday was my first time ever seeing a chiropractor. Dr. Scott is very knowledgable and is excitable to have conversation with. He definitely treated me like a patient (like a doctor should) but the conversations were also personal, which made me feel easy. There was an issue with my medical card so I had to pay for it with a gift card. Once I called the company and came back to the office, Dr. Scott was very quick to take care of the refund and charge the correct card. Not one minute was a bad experience. Thank you!
